How it Works…

After booking your dates & wilderness permit approval, we provide you with a detailed itinerary. The itinerary includes specific instructions and directions to parking lots, buildings, campsites, trailheads, etc. The following is a summarized outline.

IMG_5151.jpeg

Day 1

On the first day, you will drive to your Park’s Trailhead Destination. You will have to drive to a Wilderness Permit Station before 10 AM to check in before hike and check out Bear Cans for food. Get all gear ready, stretch, and hit the trail! Then Hike to First Night’s Location.
NOTE: You can also stay at a Backpacker’s campsite one night before your Hike Starting Date and one night after your Hike End Date. These campsites will be located 5-10 minutes walk from where you are permitted to park your vehicle (parking permit included will also be issued at Wilderness Permit Station).

Day 2

Depending on the Trail you choose, trip leader will have two options.
Option 1: Day hike to a Destination, leaving campsite “for the day” and returning to same campsite. This option is open to those returning to same trailhead starting point & relieves backpackers from carrying so much weight.
Option 2: Packing up Camp and continuing to next Location. This option is for those that choose a “loop” trail that requires to pack up and move to the next night’s location.

Day 3

Depending on the Trail you choose, trip leader will have two options.
Option 1: Pack Up Camp after breakfast and start hike back to Trailhead for those who are ending the hike at the same starting point.
Option 2: Packing up Camp and continuing on the loop to finish at a different Trailhead. This option is for those that choose a “loop” trail that requires to pack up and continue the “loop”.

Day 3 (continued)

On the last day, you will have to head back to a Wilderness Permit Station before 3 PM to return any Bear Cans. Trip leader will also make sure to return any rented gear by the return date/time on shipping label at any FedEx Drop Off Location.
Reminder: You can stay at a Backpacker’s campsite one night after your Hike End Date. These campsites will be located 5-10 minutes walk from where you are permitted to park your vehicle (parking permit included will also be issued at Wilderness Permit Station).
