Plan to bring the following items for your guided hike:
Hiking boots or shoes

Sleeping bag and sleeping pad
Stove and fuel
Kitchen supplies
Plenty of food/snacks
Water bottles and water-treatment supplies
Weather-appropriate clothing
Emergency and hygiene supplies

Wear comfortable and moisture wicking clothing (especially for the warm summer months of July-August). Comfortable hiking boots that are with grippy soles are the best option for footwear. It's important to check the weather prior to your day to make sure you're dressing appropriately. (We will send you a full checklist of what to bring upon registration).

Your trip begins and ends in the Eagle-Mosquito Trailhead also known as Mineral King Parking Area. You will need your own vehicle or transportation for this day, plan for extra time to get to your destination and find parking. TRAINING & PREPARATION
We want you to have an enjoyable and successful experience out on the trail, so it's important to come prepared! We recommend a rigorous training plan in the months leading up to your trip, focusing on endurance, cardio, and aerobic activities as well as core and leg strength (don't forget those abs and quads)! Day hikes or short overnight trips with a weighted pack (30-35lbs) is the best way to train for both the physical and mental aspects of backpacking. Activities like cycling, running, step-master or stairs, are all great additions to a training routine. Be sure to include hilly terrain and steep climbs whenever possible throughout your training.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED (GEAR RENTAL)
•Personal clothing & footwear
•Personal Backpacking Gear (Please request if needed)
•Trip Insurance (strongly recommended)
•Airfare
