Now that we’re fairly settled into the new year, snow is (hopefully) falling for most of you, and we’ve gotten past the “resolution rush”, now is a great time to start thinking about, or remind ourselves of, what we want to accomplish in 2021.
For a little bit of inspiration, we’ve decided to try something new and take anyone along with us for a new adventure, SNOWSHOEING!
Hike 10 Miles in the beautifully powdered mountain slopes guided by us, for a dY full of laughs and adventure!
Winter Edition of this beautiful 12 mile Hike to Pear Lake sitting in the peaks of Sequoia National Park. Experience and enjoy the mountain with snowshoes. This activity provides fun and exercise in the beautiful Sierra mountains. Guided tours are available with the fun and knowledgeable VS Outdoor Guides. Individuals of all levels of snowshoeing experience are welcome.
Snowshoe Adventure
Registration: February 1 - February 17th
Skill Level: all levels of snowshoeing experience are welcome.
Start Time: 8:00 am, reservations required by 3:00pm, 2/17/21.
Meeting Location: Wolverton Parking Lot, Sequoia National Park.
Price: $65 (Snowshoes included)
Private tours are available.
We recommend wearing snow boots or heavy duty hiking shoes and a layered system of clothing. Remember sunscreen and water.
What to Bring
Plan to bring the following items in a small daypack for your guided hike:
Trekking Poles (Rental Available)
2-3 Liters of water per person
Lunch & snacks for the day
Warm layers and/or rainshell
Warm Hat & Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Camera (optional)
Wear warm, comfortable and moisture wicking clothing. Comfortable snow hiking shoes that are with grippy soles are the best option for footwear. Snowshoe rental available. It's important to check the weather prior to your day to make sure you're dressing appropriately.
Trip Itinerary:
8:00 am - Meet at Wolverton Parking Lot
8:30 am - Stretch and introduction
8:45 am - Start hike towards Heather Lake
(take small breaks in between)
12:00pm - Arrive at Pear Lake
1:30 pm - Depart from Pear Lake (Hike out)
4:00 pm - Arrive back to Parking Lot (Wolverton)
4:30 pm - Drive home!
(Everything is subject to change, due to any unforeseen circumstances)
Travel & Logistics
Your trip begins and ends in the Wolverton Parking Lot (Pic-Nic Area) at the Alta Peak Trail Head. SNOWCHAINS REQUIRED! You will need your own vehicle or transportation for this day (carpool available), plan for extra time to get to your destination and find parking. Traffic can be heavy in Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park during the peak months of winter. You'll be meeting your guide in the Wolverton Parking Lot, right next to the bear canisters and Alta Peak Trailhead. There is plenty of parking area, as well as bathrooms. Directions will be sent to you upon registration.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancelations must be made by the last Monday before the Trip Date for full Refund. Otherwise, no refunds will be made. We need ample time to get the word out and have other sign up for your spot! We hope you understand.
